St. Gertrude's Gardener, lawn and garden fertilizing system
automatically fertilizes your lawn and garden through your sprinkler system! If you don't have a sprinkler system, thats ok too, because St.
Gertrude's Gardener can be connected for use on your garden hose .
The best part is, St. Gertrude's Gardener is a snap to install, using the "quick connect" system. It's as simple as 1, 2, 3!
1. Locate your sprinkler system's backflow preventer (usually located above ground).
2. Glue on the "quick connect" valve.
3. Connect the flex tubing.
Everything you need for installation on a 1" or 11/4" main line is provided. Other sizes are available upon request. A "quick connect" valve
is also supplied for use with a garden hose. Works wonders on vegetable and
flower gardens. It literally installs in minutes
The system uses any dry water soluble or liquid fertilizer such as Miracle Grow or Peters, available everywhere. Just unscrew the large cap,
fill it up, and you're done. The system also may be used with fungicides such as (Daconil) and non-petrochemical insecticides like (Sevin), for total
lawn and garden care. No diluting, mixing or measuring like other systems.
Be sure to follow local codes for backflow requirements.
Manufactured of tough PVC, with no moving parts, the entire system should last a lifetime with no maintenance required. Designed with a patented
"never clog" filter, the unit will not clog. Because the unit flushes itself continually, there is no need for flushing or cleaning. And with the
flex tube connectors, the unit can be removed and bypassed in seconds, if necessary.
Your St. Gertrude's Gardener is fitted with a general purpose metering
nozzle, taking appx. 800 gallons (model 55) and 1000 gallons (model 80) to
empty the unit. Flow rates depend upon sprinkler consumption and operation
pressure. Additional nozzles are available for special applications. Using
water soluble or liquid fertilizers is economical, because plants and
grass absorb 90% of the fertilizer when applied in this manner, compared
to 40-60% when applied dry! For best results refill every 4-6 weeks.
